Two Unbelievable Concerts!

First of all, a belated congratulations to all 4th and 5th grade Parmenter students on their concert last week! I was blown away by your sound, energy, and focus! Bravo!

Also congratulations on last night's after school district-wide music concert. Outstanding job by all 3rd, 4th, and 5th band, string, and chorus students! You made your schools and directors very proud!

Here is a small clip from an Honors Chorus song, Proud Mary. Amazing what students can do with talent and hard work!

Who Has Seen The Wind

Who Has Seen The Wind - Green Belt
This song I added a few years ago and can not be found on the Recorder Karate website. With the help of 4th grade student teachers at JFK, Ms. Boulay and Ms. Decker. I was able to make a video to help students practice at home. Enjoy!

Talent at JFK

Here's a great way to end your week!

Twice a year I try to do a music "show and tell" where students can show off musical talents that they have been practicing at home. Parmenter's Show and Tell will be in January and both schools will have another show and tell in June. Here are some highlights from 3rd and 4th grade. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to record everyone but I hope to catch more in June!

In Kindergarten students have been working on finding their singing voice and teaching Freddy the Frog how to sing. At the end of class students can come up for open mic and sing whatever song they would like! I showed students how to use a microphone, how to bow, and how to be a good audience. As a special treat before vacation I brought the students on the stage to use the microphone plugged into the speakers. I was amazed at how fearless the kindergarteners were! I wasn't able to record everyone but I hope to catch more in the future!

Did you know Mozart was considered a child prodigy? He started composing music when he was only 5 years old!
Is this boy the next Mozart?
